The dreaded H-1B filing deadline of April 1, 2017 for the Fiscal Year 2018 is fast approaching, making employers and employees face tough questions.
H-1B process, even though not complex intrinsically, is nevertheless complicated due to numerical cap, prevailing wage, employer responsibility, and financial issues.
H-1B Seminar Topics: The topics to be covered are as follows:
1. H-1B classification-- how to qualify as an employer and employee and the general employer and employee requirements
2. Prevailing and actual wage issues
3. Financial responsibilities of the employer, for Department of Labor and USCIS purposes
4. Changing status from a J1 12 month graduate visa to H-1B
5. Intent issues and changing status issues
6. Employer compliance issues, petition fees and an outline of common pitfalls
This seminar will shed light on the H-1B program, focusing on both employer and employee perspectives and will answer questions they may have, providing a clear understanding of the program.
To be eligible for H-1B status you must:
1) have minimum of a four year university degree (or equivalent);
2) be paid at the 'prevailing wage';
3) the job must typically require a minimum four- year University degree or equivalent.
